They must feel secure in their work environment. Salaries must be adequate and appropriate. Working hours should be reasonable, and the workplace must be clean and well-organized. There should be a system in place that enables employees to submit suggestions or express concerns. Opportunities for advancement must be available to those who are capable, and every individual should be recognized and considered personally, in accordance with their merit and contributions.
“Our third responsibility is to the communities in which we live”
We must extend our fullest support to all efforts aimed at advancing society by providing the broadest possible access to the technologies within our expertise. We must also participate in promoting industrial community development and in introducing our activities to the public.
“Our fourth and final responsibility is to shareholders"
A business must generate profit. Innovative research and outstanding programs must be developed. Mistakes must be corrected, and unfavorable conditions anticipated. New machinery should be acquired, new factories constructed. New products must be launched, and sales strategies developed. There must be a willingness to experiment with new ideas. All of these efforts are undertaken to ensure that shareholders receive a fair return on their investment.
